We’re looking for a technically capable Business Intelligence & Data Engineer to help shape how data is used across the 2M Group. This is a hands-on role for someone who already has a strong grounding in Power BI, SQL and modern data platforms, and is comfortable working independently across BI and data engineering.
What you’ll be doing…
Reporting to the Business Intelligence and Customer Experience Lead, you will be working with Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, SQL, Python, Azure and AI, building the pipelines, models and reporting solutions that turn complex data into reliable, actionable insight.
Building and maintaining Power BI reports, dashboards and semantic models.
Developing ETL/ELT pipelines using SQL, Python and, where appropriate, PySpark/Spark.
Working with Microsoft Fabric, data warehouses, lake houses and data lakes.
Designing robust data models and improving data quality and governance.
Translating business requirements into practical technical solutions.
Helping consolidate reporting and data onto a single governed platform.
Applying DevOps, version control and good development practices.
Exploring practical uses of AI and automation across reporting and data processes.
Troubleshooting complex BI and data issues independently.
Your background…
Must have…
Strong Power BI experience.
Confident SQL skills.
Experience working with Microsoft Fabric or a comparable modern data platform.
Experience working with Microsoft Fabric or a comparable modern data platform.
A solid understanding of data modelling and data engineering principles.
Experience developing and maintaining data pipelines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
The confidence to take ownership of technical problems and work through solutions independently.
Nice to have…
Understanding of data modelling best practices (star, snowflake, normalisation).
Knowledge of business operations
Experience of Microsoft Dynamics 365 (F&O)
Previous experience using Azure
Experience with Python, PySpark/Spark, Azure, DevOps or Dynamics 365 would be highly beneficial.
The ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
